The pandemic has most impacted families that were already facing hunger or one paycheck away from facing hunger. Hunger is the leading cause of death in the world. Why it matters to me Under-nutrition is the biggest single underlying cause of child mortality across the world.

But this lack of nutrition also affects a childs potential. Social protection measures can be used to reduce the poverty gap. From ending poverty and hunger to responding to climate change and sustaining our natural resources food and agriculture are an important part of every goal.

Undernutrition goes beyond calories to signify deficiencies in energy protein andor essential vitamins and minerals. Zero hunger is important because if we growconsumeand share our food correctly agriculture fisheries and forestry can provide food for everyone.
